Statement of Purpose
OUR STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The purpose of Mount Carmel Full Gospel Deliverance International Organization of Churches, Inc. is to be a reflection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and see to it that His Kingdom comes and that His will is done on this Earth just as it is in Heaven.
Jesus Christ is Head of His Church founded upon the conviction that He is the Son of God. We are redeemed by His blood, nourished upon His Word, upheld by His intercession; the Church is His body, commissioned to do His will.
Our Lord Jesus Christ did not abandon the Church, rather He sent His Holy Spirit to guide the Apostles into all truth so that the body would have all it needed to do the work Christ intended and also be protected from those forces, which would destroy her.
Elders were named in each congregation and given oversight in spiritual matters.
Be on guard for yourselves and for the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you Overseers, to Shepherd the Church of God, which He purchased with His own blood.
An Elders work may include but not limited to preaching and teaching, as well as praying with the sick, shepherding the flock, and serving as a good example.
The word Deacon means servant, as the Elder takes care of the spiritual needs of the flock; the Deacon cares for the natural and physical needs.
When the complaint arose in the Jerusalem Church that certain widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food, the Apostles selected seven able bodied men full of the Holy Ghost and turned the responsibilities over to them. This was an immediate and practical solution.
So it is today, the Elders see that the Gospel is exegetically taught and preached, taught and lived, that there is continual prayer in the Church, that Christian love and a spirit of unity prevail, that workers are selected and trained, that those who stray are brought back in to the fold and that the kingdom of God extends abroad.
The Deacons see to the physical and natural matters of the Church, that the Church is available and equipped, that the property is well maintained, that the financial affairs are above reproach and that no one in the congregation suffers lack of food, clothing or shelter.
